group-x-logo.gifIf you attended the Club Industry East show in New York this past May, you know that the group exercise competition was one of the most compelling events there. Large and small clubs strutted their stuff, enthusiastically demonstrating their new and original classes in 15- to 20-minute segments. Each presentation brought big crowds to the Live at Club Studio! area to see how it was done and to catch the excitement of the workouts. more

Down the Road at Midtown

midtownopks-300.gifI had my second field trip of the week this afternoon during a tour of the recently renovated Midtown Athletic Club, which is just down the street from our building in Overland Park, KS. Molly Markley, general manager, showed the whole editorial crew (Stuart, Stephanie, Jennifer and me) how the company had expanded from a tennis-only facility to a tennis and fitness facility after Bally Total Fitness vacated a portion of the building several months ago. more
