Paul Ireland to Power Plate

We’ve got confirmation that Paul Ireland, late of Star Trac, has landed at Power Plate.

Ireland was vice president of sales with Star Trac and had been with that company for more than 15 years before he was part of Star Trac’s layoffs earlier this summer.

Ireland, who will be in charge of North American sales for Power Plate, won’t officially start at the company until next week, Power Plate CEO Gregg Hammann said this morning.

“We’re really excited about it,” said Hammann, who will hit the high school football practice field later today in Iowa as he returns for his second year as a head coach. “I think he’s a great addition to the team and is going to be a terrific asset.”

Ireland shouldn’t have to move to a new house as both Power Plate and Star Trac are based in Irvine, CA.

UPDATE (Aug. 24): I have confirmation that Steve Nero, Star Trac’s former president, is consulting with new Star Trac owner Michael Bruno on Bruno’s medical division, Primus Medical. Bruno bought Star Trac last month.)

More to come.
