California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State) recently posted a video of its new rec center, The Well, which opened Sept. 2. It gives you a really good picture of all that the facility has to offer, especially the rock climbing wall, which is the centerpiece.

The Well (which stands for wellness, education, leisure, lifestyle) combines health and fitness under one roof and in one program, according to the university. And because I received several e-mails from Big Ass Fans alerting me to the opening of this facility, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Big Ass Fans supplied some “rather large” fans for several rooms in the facility (as you can see in the video).

All I can say is, I went to college 20 years too late!

I called around to a few fitness centers in the Boulder, CO, area last week to see if the fires in the canyon near the college town were affecting them. The owners of each club I spoke with said that their clubs were fine. The fire is in a rural enough area that no clubs are near them. more
